Michael Jackson RIP

I was absolutely sideswiped when I heard Michael Jackson had passed away. I grew up listening to his music, and although I am not a recent fan, I still have great respect for him and his talents. He was a fantastic singer and dancer. For a man who lived a very reclusive, private life, the media circus that will be his funeral doesn't seem to me to be very respectful. I wonder what his wishes were, and if they will be carried out? Too many people are already sticking their hands out. I wish for t… Continue

RIP Farrah Fawcett

I was sad last week when it was announced that Farrah Fawcett had passed away, losing her battle with cancer. She was 62. I remember seeing her on Charlie's Angels in re-runs on tv. She was so beautiful, vibrant, and full of life. Too young to be taken from us. She was so brave. Clara Bow

Another favorite actress of mine is Clara Bow, "The It Girl." Clara Gordon Bow was born on July 29, 1905 in Brooklyn, New York. She was the only surviving child of a dysfunctional family afflicted with mental illness and abuse. As it was, a sleeping baby Clara had been revived by her Grandmother, when she could not hear the child breathing… Continue

Jean Harlow

I wanted to write about my favorite actress, Jean Harlow, to introduce her to some of you who may never have heard of her, and to those of you who have, maybe you will learn something about her you didn't know. Jean Harlow was born Harlean Harlow Carpenter on March 3, 1911 in Kansas City, Missouri, to Mont Clair Carpenter, and Jean Poe Harlow Carpenter. (yes, her mother was the Real Jean Harlow!) Jean's father was a very prominent dentist and her mother was a housewife, who doted on baby Harlea… Continue

Hi All, For my first blog EVER, I thought I would introduce myself and tell you a bit about me. My name is Julie and I live in Wisconsin. I am married to a wonderful guy, and we have 3 cats: Madeleine, age 2, and Julius & Mitchells, both age 3. They are our "kids" for now. :) Madeleine was a stray I found at my work. She was wandering around in the alley behind my office, and came in the building and I couldn't let her go, she was SO small. Julius we got from the humane society, he was a s… Continue
